Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is gearing up for the upcoming basketball and hockey seasons, revealing last week that it has become the official airline of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche. The partnerships were announced during a recent employee-centric event in Denver, Colorado.

With the carrier already being the official airline partner of the Colorado Rockies, the two new partnerships showcase its commitment to the Mile High City. Additionally, Southwest will be a presenting sponsor of the Nuggets and Avalanche.

Southwest’s Vice President of Marketing, Jonathan Clarkson, also spoke about the new partnerships. He said,

“From the hardwood to the ice rink, we’re thrilled to welcome the Nuggets & Avalanche into our partnership family. Partnering with these two winning franchises enables us to share our Mile High Heart in support of the community’s passion points.”

Clarkson also mentioned that the partnerships go beyond the venues where the teams play, saying they are community-focused and intended to unite people, adding,

They’re focused on the community and bringing everyone together to rally around a common cause, give underserved communities a hand-up, celebrating moments that matter, and serving the city with our famous Heart and Hospitality.”
